A sweet treat!
With this blog post I’d like to invite all of the followers and visitors of Beekeeping365 to post a response below announcing their blog and inviting others to come visit. I think most of my followers are beekeepers but beekeeper or not don’t let that stand in your way. Another example of beginners starting to keep bees as a hobby and erratically blogging about it when day jobs permit, although we are, perhaps, no longer quite beginners after seven years.
While a number of amateurs use horizontal top-bar hives as we do, we seem alone in using Tanzanian style (vertical sides) rather than Kenyan style (sloping slides).

Thanks for stopping by to comment. No, hate to break it to you but you’re not beginners anymore. Probably more like bee addicts. 🙂 It’s all good and while I am a Langstroth guy I enjoy seeing others work with various types of hives. I don’t actually think the bees care much one way or the other but if it increases our enjoyment then everyone is a winner.

Langstroth is fine for now but wait. As supers heavier get and back weaker gets to horizontal dark side turn you will, yes. 8)

Your post today is a great idea – thanks for the invitation to all of us bee-bloggers. I’ve been writing about beekeeping for years, even though I’m not a particularly great beekeeper. Not even a good beekeeper. In fact, I had to name my blog the badbeekeepingblog.
By the way, your photo looks great – but honestly, my teeth began to ache as soon as I saw it! (That won’t stop me from making a honey comb cone when the weather gets hot!)

Hello, I am Claire from Smallholding Dream – https://smallholdingdreams.com/ – I am a beginner at a lot of things, beekeeping, shepherding cheesemaking, goat milking, vegetable growing etc and am learning as I go along. I am about to open a pop-up cafe on our campsite where I will sell my own home-grown, home cooked food – all the meat, eggs, veggies and fruit will be from our own (non-certified) organic smallholding. Hopefully next year my dairy will pass inspection and I can add cheese and yoghurt for sale to that list. Currently I am rather terrified by it all – my blog details the ups and downs of the adventure. I hope to be able to make a living from this – which given the situation in higher education here in the UK is probably a good idea – my day job (currently) is as a lecturer in Islamic history and art. I worry I might be too highly strung to be a beekeeper, I am quite jaggy round the edges, but so far they seem to tolerate me. I haven’t tried honeycomb on icecream yet, but that is a goal for this year 🙂
